Constructing Intelligence: From Legacy Data to AI-Driven Recruitment

Challenge: Title
Lambda SA is a company that specializes in thermal insulation, anticorrosive works, reinforcement steel assembly, formworks, drywall installation services, and construction works.
The company undertakes various construction projects, ranging from tunnels, bridges, stadiums, underground railways, residential and public buildings, to nuclear power plants.
To provide these services, Lambda employs thousands of skilled workers worldwide. Each year, it conducts hundreds of recruitment processes to find the right candidates for the job.
One of the biggest challenges faced during this project was ensuring data quality and accuracy during the migration from the legacy system to the new Microsoft Dynamics 365 solution.
With years' worth of data in the old system, cleansing and validating the data to ensure smooth integration with the new system required significant effort and attention to detail. Additionally, ensuring user adoption of the new system and providing sufficient training to all employees was another challenge that needed to be addressed for successful implementation.

The core assumption for the project was to follow the path of incremental upgrades.
The first step was to replace a core legacy recruitment system with a modern solution based on Microsoft Dynamics 365 cloud deployment. This allowed Lambda to build a candidate database that formed the foundation of its data hub.
The next step included streamlining the most important and cumbersome processes with quickly built applications using the Power Apps framework.

When the well-structured data started flowing into the system and more and more processes were handled within the system, business intelligence tool - Power BI was introduced.
Further automation and tools integration were implemented using Microsoft Power Automate.
Finally, an end-to-end employee performance scoring solution was built, allowing Lambda to gather uniform data about employees from the beginning of the recruitment process until the time when they leave a construction site.
This data allowed Lambda to build a dedicated recommendation engine that is being leveraged in the recruitment process.
The TDC Team successfully guided us through the entire process of replacing a legacy core business system with a modern cloud-based solution that has significantly improved our internal processes.
Thanks to their expertise and commitment, we were also able to integrate scattered data sources into a single, cohesive Business Intelligence solution, which today forms the foundation of our data-driven business decision making process.
